You really have no idea. You would think, faced with the hipe surrounding what heppened, anyone would get a bloated ego about it. But thats just not what happened.

As a matter of fact, the story broke 2 days after it all happened. A guy who lived in Castailan Springs, Wesley Overstreet, went on our local news and told everyone he's rescued the baby. The EMA chief from up there knows me really well, and he know what had happened. He went on TV, corrected the story, but didn't give David's name. He just said that it was someone from WEMA (our department). A very studious reporter from the Tennessean figured out that it was David and asked him for an interview the night after it all happened. David just thought it was a small one time thing and agreed. The next morining it was all over the nation.

Everyone at our department says he was the perfect one for it to happen to. He has handled it all with grace and class! Speaking really well, being very polite to everyone he's spoken with. Except one AP reporter who, when David was telling her about the people with him, said "We don't want to know about them, we just want to know about you." David ended the interview rihgt then and there!!
