Been Gone
DATE: Nov 13 2007, 7:13 am / MOOD: Exhausted
Hey guys I have been away for awhile now but I am back. I have had a really bad past few months. My bestfriend Lee Flatt is battling cancer and I have had two benefits for him and I have tried to be by his side and be his friend. I love that guys more than life. I have also been busy coaching SACC (special needs) we had our last soccer game this past Sunday. I have missed every race this season, one I was pissed because Sterling was gone. I did get to talk to him on News Channel 5t. I have decided to go for Carl Edwards I met him at Bristol while all the other drivers were flying out or getting in their motorhomes he comes out by himself in a blue 4 door ford taurus I knew then he was going to be a favorite. He stop talk to me and let me take his pic. I dislike these drivers who think they are better than their fans when the fans are who make them the person they are. I just want to ask each one of you to please stop right now and pray for my bestfriend Lee, and for my other friends battling cancer, Mitchell Brown, Susan Horn, and Glen Roberts. I have my Relay For Life team again this year so if you are interested in being a volunteer or getting a team together please let me know. Lisa

I am Always with You!
DATE: Feb 28 2007, 9:23 am / MOOD: Thoughtful
I Am With You Always! To Those I Love and Those Who love Me When I am gone, release me, let me go.I have so many things to see and do.You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears.Be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess,How much you gave to me in happiness.I thank you for the love you have each shown,But now it is time I travel alone. So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It’s only for awhile that we must part,So bless the memories within your heart.I won’t be far away, for life goes on.So if you need me, call I will come.Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near. And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hearAll of my love around you soft and clear And then, when you must come this way alone,I’ll greet you with a smile and sayWelcome Home.

| DAYTONA QUALIFYING | | Feb 11, 2007 | | Marlin Eighth Fastest in Daytona 500 Qualifying Locks In Starting Spot for Season Opener DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 10, 2007)-- Sterling Marlin posted the eighth-fastest speed during Sunday's Daytona 500 Pole Day qualifying session, guaranteeing himself a spot in the Feb. 18 season opener. Martin covered the 2.5-mile oval in 48.663 seconds at 184.945 miles per hour. "What a relief," offered Marlin, two-time Daytona 500 champion. "The three cars outside of the Top 35 with the fastest qualifying laps today were guaranteed a spot in the 500 and we were one of them. That's a huge relief for this team and a lot of weight taken off our shoulders. Slugger (crew chief Richard "Slugger" Labbe) and all the guys on the Waste Management team worked their tails off in the off season to bring a car back here that we could be confident would make the show and that's exactly what they did." While only the front row was set by today's time trials, Thursday's Gatorade Duel races will place drivers in the remaining positions for the Daytona 500. Because the No. 14 team ended last season outside of the Top 35 in the Nextel Cup owner point standings, Marlin wasn't not guaranteed a spot in the race. Marlin will start fifth in the second Duel race on Thursday. His three Ginn Racing teammates -- Mark Martin, Joe Nemechek and Regan Smith - are also seeded in the second race. "We would've had another shot to make the race on Thursday, but now that we're locked in we can focus on getting a top starting spot for the 500," said Marlin. "We've been fast since we unloaded and we were happy with the way our Waste Management Chevy drove in the pack during testing. I love this race track and I'm glad I can stop worrying about making the show and start focusing on winning it." Marlin won NASCAR's biggest race in 1994 and 1995. He is only one of three drivers to have won the Daytona 500 back-to-back. The other two were Richard Petty and Cale Yarborough. Thursday's Duel races will be broadcast live on Speed beginning at 2 p.m. ET. The following is an overview on how the Daytona 500 starting field is set: Pos 1 and 2: Pole sitter and outside pole sitter from Bud Pole qualifying. Pos 3 thru 39: Top 35 in previous season car owner points and two highest finishing teams in each Gatorade Duel race NOT in the Top 35. Pos 40-42: Fastest qualifiers not in by above (based on Pole Day speeds). Pos 43: Past champion provisional, otherwise the spot goes to the next fastest qualifier.

Caught Cheating!
DATE: Feb 12 2007, 9:32 am / MOOD: Other
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Matt Kenseth and Kasey Kahne failed inspection after qualifying Sunday for the Daytona 500, and their teams could face harsh penalties before NASCAR's season opener. Their qualifying times were disallowed after inspectors discovered illegal modifications in each car. NASCAR said Kenseth's Ford had illegal holes in the wheel well and Kahne's Dodge also had illegal holes in an unspecified location. The holes may have improved the aerodynamics of their cars.
